Website Icon on my phone, tablet or desktop.
The La Quinta Historical Society website is a fully responsive site that adjusts all screens and data to the size of your device. If you wish to have our Icon added to your phone, tablet or desktop, please follow the instructions below.
Creating an Icon on desktop:
On Windows (Chrome or Edge)
- Open the website.
- Click the three vertical dots (Chrome) or three horizontal dots (Edge) in the top-right corner.
- Hover over Save and Share (Chrome) or Apps (Edge).
- Select Install this site as an app or Create Shortcut.
- If prompted, give it a name and click Create or Install. The icon will now appear on your desktop.
On Mac (Safari)
- Open the website in Safari.
- Click the File menu at the top of the screen.
- Select Add to Dock.
- Type a name for the shortcut and click Add. The icon will appear in your Dock for quick access.
Creating an Icon on Mobile Devices:
iPhone or iPad (Safari):
- Navigate to the website.
- Tap the Share icon (the square with an upward arrow) at the bottom or top of the screen.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name and tap Add.
Android (Chrome):
- Open the website in the Chrome app.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select Add to Home screen.
- Tap Add, then tap Add to home screen again (or drag the icon to your desired spot).
